“Roll with the punches” Hutchins tells Melbourne brain tumour sufferer

Victorian Education Minister Natalie Hutchins, has been criticised for telling a Melbourne woman with a brain tumour to “roll with the punches” following a medical equipment shortage in Australia’s second biggest city. The woman, Kylie Hennessy, was forced to travel 800km from Melbourne to Adelaide last week for scans prior to an urgent medical procedure, requiring a functional MRI scan ahead of critical surgery to remove a brain tumour. The procedure was delayed when it became known no fMRI machines were available in Melbourne.
