Only weeks after the Uvalde shootings, the US faced more gun carnage, after a gunman perched on a rooftop fired on families at a 4th of July street parade at the Chicago suburb of Highland Park, killing six people and wounding more than 36. And while the 4th of July is a celebration of the US’s Independence, Hollywood celebrities like Katy Perry and Bette Midler, called on Americans to ban Independence Day celebrations because of the US Supreme Court’s abortion ruling.
