Californian Courts could remove children from parents if they refuse access to Gender Reaffirming Care

As the transgender issue rages, California Governor Gavin Newsom, signed into law, legislation to protect transgender youth and their families if they leave States restricting access to gender affirming care. In March, States like Alabama, Texas and Arizona enacted laws restricting youth access to gender affirming care or currently considering laws that would do so. The Bill, also allows Californian courts to take temporary emergency jurisdiction when a child hasn’t been able to receive gender affirming care elsewhere – or simply put, the courts can take custody of children if their parents refuse to provide them with gender affirming care.
