Will a new Federal ICAC be independent?

If there’s one thing Australia has prided itself on is its stable sound political system. Where corruption wasn’t ingrained in its fabric. That doesn’t mean to say it didn’t exist, it just wasn’t as prevalent as it is in other countries. But now many politicians in Australia, seem to be making up for lost opportunity. Which is why the formation of a new federal anti-corruption commission should be applauded. Can a Federal ICAC genuinely be independent if it’s funded by the Federal Government?
